One important and curious question every student is expected to ask to assess their education, but often avoids, is: "Am I learning?"
Most students don't bother asking themselves this question because, while many don't see any reason asking, it doesn't occur to some, and many others don't ask because they actually don't know what education is and the learning indicators to look out for.
Failure to ask this question is the reason why many would go through school, graduate, and end up having anything to offer their society as a direct implication of their learning in school.
However, there is no way you can ask yourself this question and get the right assessment result unless you first understand what education is. So, what is education?
Education is an acquired knowledge, developed skills, gathered experiences, and the ability to apply them to create something and to solve personal and professional problems. What this means is that to be educated, you must possess certain sets of skills, knowledge, and experiences in relation to your general lifestyle and profession.
So, to be sure of your learning by asking yourself the question, assess your acquired knowledge and gathered experiences, and list the skills you have developed and mastered over a period of time.
Your sincere answers will reflect the reality of your learning.
